The Christian alternative music group Caedmon's Call sings, 'The journey's left its share of scars mostly from leaving the narrow and straight'. You've probably experienced this. When we disregard God's principles, we often get ourselves into a lot of trouble and hurt. But, God wants us to live lives of purpose, celebration and hope. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." This is our goal for our church. To give good news in spiritual and practical ways and experience the fullness of life in celebration and in service.

The Somyon SDA church is a place where we look for God's purpose and plan for our lives. We invite you to share in the fellowship sharing, outreach and re-energize mentally and spiritually with other English speakers.

Many people from all walks of life have found that God's principles bring a life of purpose and help humanity achieve it's greatest successes and fulfillment. Here are a few quotes:

"Liberty is not the power of doing what we like, but the right of being able to do what we ought." (Lord Acton)

"Where morality is present, laws are unnecessary. Without morality, laws are unenforceable." (Thomas Jefferson)

"It is impossible to enslave mentally or socially a Bible-reading people. The principles of the Bible are the groundwork of human freedom." Horace Greeley

"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education." Theodore Roosevelt

"The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve." -- Albert Schweitzer

"My purpose is to give life in all its fullness." --Jesus

If these quotes stimulate your curiosity and you want to learn more, please come and worship with us. If you'd like to find some answers to questions about spirituality or what are Christianity's answers to the big questions of life, check out these sites: http://www.christiananswers.net (English & some Korean) or http://www.bigquestions.com/home/index.htm (this has an excellent mix of Bible, history, science, humor and serious thoughts).
