BIWA (Busan International Women's Association)

BIWA is an Association that exists to extend friendship and support to international women living in the Busan Kyungsang Namdo area. We like to encourage cultural exchange between out international and local Korean members and we organize many activities and events to facilitate this. We are a non-profit organizations and use the money we raise to help those in the local Korean community who are in need.

BIWA helps orphanages, disabled people, widows and the elderly in Busan and kyungsang Namdo area. Our two main fundraising events to fund our charity commitments are an annual Christmas Bazaar and Spring Grand Ball. In addition we organize social, cultural and women's health & fitness activities throughout the year. If our members express a desire to pursue a particular interest we try to respond. In 2006 we have organized and participated in culture groups, tennis, golf, hiking, social evenings.
