One Art Street Exhibition
Pweb - Wed, 2006-12-13 21:25
On Tues., December 19, at 2pm there is an opening of a new, free exhibition at the Baeksan Memorial Hall in Jungangdong. This is a mixed exhibition called ""No.1 Art Street, from both local Korean and foreign artists - including photography, sculpture, painting, performance etc. There will be performances only at 2pm Tue Dec 19, and then the exhibition runs daily til Dec 28.
The Baeksan Memorial Hall is located about 2 streets down the hill on the Jungangdong side of Busan Tower ( It is maybe maybe 250 metres from Yongdusan Park which is at the top of the escalators in Nampodong, just to orient you). The Hall is a very distinctive small glass A-frame building with a paved courtyard in the front. Nearest subway would be Jungangdong or Nampodong (it's about half way between the two), or get off a bus at Busan Department Store. From Jungangdong subway go out exit 3, walk a few meters and turn right at KB star bank. Just keep
walking straight until road ends in T-intersection. Baeksan memorial Hall is immediately on your right.
This area was historically the real hub of art activities in Busan. It was known in earlier days as 'Art Street' and local artists want to see it happening again. So come along and support the rebirth of the local art scene in Busan!
