How I Saw it. Cam copy.

Plot. Remy is a rat, constantly risking life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love of good food, as well as a desire to become a chef. Yet, obviously, this is a rather tough dream for a rat. But opportunity knocks when a young boy, who desperately needs to keep his job at the restaurant, despite his lack of cooking abilities, discovers and partners the young Remy. Its up to the two of them to avoid the insane head chef, bring the rest of Remy's family up to his standards, win his partner a girl, and, of course, produce the finest Ratatouille in all of France.

Brad Bird has done it again. As in his previous films The Iron Giant and The Incredibles this one is a sure sign of a good director becoming a great one before our very eyes.

HUGE SPOILER ALERT REVIEW!!!! To be honest, when I first saw the trailer for this film, I did not think too much of it; A rat who likes good food. Ok, a bad take off of "Mickey Mouse". Then I was able to see a 9 minute preview of this film and I kept thinking, "Pixar, might have something here". After seeing the film, I know they have something here!

I am not a huge fan of the comedy of Patton Oswalt, but in this role, He pulls it off very nicely and This was the first role of Janeane Garofalo that I have liked since CopLand One of the roles I really enjoyed was the role of the Food Critic, Anton Ego, the role was voiced by Peter O'Toole.

Each time that Anton was in the film, it was a legend taking over and I actually believed that he was a food critic, who, could destroy you with one bad review. His review at the end of the film is why very few actors could have played in this role.

The film is simple enough, its about a boy and his rat. You have seen the story before as in Ben or Willard but this one is different. The rat wants to help humans, by being a great cook. What I really like was the actual story itself. The film was not too long nor was it too short. It had a great flow and a great pace. It was very easy to believe that you are in Paris and that you are just along for the ride.

END SPOILER ALERT.

The film will arrive in Korea on 27 JULY 2007. Please take your family or that someone special. This film deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Grade A+ Gusteau: Food comes to those who love to cook. Colette: He calls it his "Little Chef".

Plot. Top cover girl and fashion model, Jennifer Tree has it all - beauty, fame, money and power. Her face appears on covers of hundreds of magazines. At the top of her game, Jennifer is America's sweetheart. She is loved and adored and sought after. Everyone wants her. But someone out there has been watching and waiting. Someone wants her in the worst way. Out alone at a charity event in Soho, Jennifer is drugged and taken. Held captive in a cell, Jennifer is subjected to a series of terrifying, life-threatening tortures that could only be conceived by a twisted, sadistic mind. It follows the story of one woman who is abducted and tortured, held against her will in a place where days turn into weeks.  Written by After Dark Films (The Producer of the film)

I am slowing coming to the point where, I really hate these "New Wave" horror films.

This films plot was so easy to see coming, it was sad. You could even tell that a huge scene was cut from this film, so the film would earn a "R" rating instead of a "NC-17" I really could not believe what I was watching. This film will be remembered more for its "<a href="http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2007-03-30#film6">MPAA Slaps Horror Film Producer with Sanctions"</a> than the film itself.

Please pass.

Plot. Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He's so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so embarrassing - the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman, Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life "bad boy," and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for. Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny's puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel's growing frustration. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality. It's time for these small-town cops to break out some big-city justice.

Well, if you loved “Shaun of the Dead” then you are going to love this film. Its made by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, the same ones who made “Shaun of the Dead”

To be honest, I really had no idea what to expect when they first announced this film, would it be a funny take on all of the over the top, police stories, that we have seen over the few years? Or would it be a very witty and funny look how one man life path can led him to the most unusual places.? I am happy to say that it was both of the above and it’s a great ride to enjoy.

Can you imagine, that you are told by your bosses that, you are too good and that you are making the rest of us look bad.  Well that’s the opening act of this film and the journey to becoming a greater hero starts here…..

HEAVY SPOILER ALERTS…………………………………………………………………

What I really liked was Danny (Nick Frost) his take on a small time police officer wanting to become “Dirty Harry” was just way too funny and when you hear him at the school Q & A, it was just like a little boy realizing ,that, he now has the biggest toy on the block and he is going to gloat over it. What I found really funny was all of those little boy questions, actually happen in the film (SHOOTING SOMEONE AND THEIR HEAD EXPLODES, SLIDING ACROSS A CAR, USING 2 GUNS TO SHOOT) When these actually are show, it was a great set up from the school and it was just a cleaver way of tying it all together.

END SPOILER ALERT……………………………………………………………….

Another thing that I liked was the pace of the film, it was never too fast and it was slow in the right places. When the end of the film happens and the chaos ensues, its done at the correct pace and by the time its over, you’ll want to see more. The film will play best with a crowd that likes this kind of humor, I fear a lot of people will miss the jokes and not understand what they are watching. If you see this, you may be the only person laughing.

Grade A-
Nicholas Angel: [turning around to face a group of school children] Are there any questions?
Danny Butterman: [sitting at the back of a group of school children] Is it true that there's a point on a man's head where if you shoot it, it will blow up?

Movie Review. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Review:
<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486576/">IMDB link</a>

Opens in Korea. 9 August 2007 (South Korea)

How I saw it. Cam Copy

Plot. After the defeat of Dr.Doom the Fantastic Four think life is back to normal. Reed Richards and Sue Storm make plans to get married, but are interrupted when the Silver Surfer and Galactus show up, trying to destroy the earth and it's up to the fantastic four to deal with them, as well as with the return of Dr. Doom.

With Von Doom back in his homeland of Latveria the fantastic four have new troubles when Galactus has decided that Earth is his next target. When his henchman, The Silver Surfer(Norrin Radd), is sent to Earth he discovers that he's getting more than he bargained for when he encounters the Fantastic Four. But that's not all when Dr. Doom decides that after two years in the homeland he is ready to return.

There are some films that I have a good feeling about before they come out and I am proven right. Then there are films like this, that I just had a bead feeling about and, sad to say, after seeing the film, my gut was right about the film.

Once again, how can something, with so much potential, be so bad. I have no idea, but this film just failed me on way too many levels.

The plot was bad, the acting was bad, (I was cheering for the bad guy to kill the 4 so this film would be over.) The only good thing about the film was the small cameo by Stan Lee.

To be honest I hated the first film and now the 2nd one also.

Please pass on this junk when it arrives in Korea in August.

Movie Review. Oceans 13

Review:
imdb link Opened in Korea. June 14th, 2007 How I saw it. CGV. Opening weekend in USA. $36,133,403 3565 Screens. Plot. When one of their own, Reuben Tishkoff builds a hotel with known casino owner Willy Banks, the last thing he ever wanted was to get cut out of the deal personally by the loathsome Banks. Banks' attitude even goes so far as to finding the amusement in Tishkoff's misfortune when the double crossing lands Reuben in the hospital because of a heart attack. However, Danny and his crew won't stand for Banks and what he's done to a friend. Uniting with their old enemy Terry Benedict, who himself has a vendetta against Banks, the crew is out to pull off a major plan. One that will unfold on the night Banks' newest hot spot opens up, when the crew is out to bankrupt one of the city's most despised businessmen. But they're not in this for the money, but for the revenge. Well if you like films that show allot and makes you cheer for the bad guys, then this will be the film for you. The simple plot of this film is revenge. You will love how they tie it all together. Look for a small role by Eddie Izzard, who with this and, "The Riches" is slowly becoming an actor that I will start watching. The way he inserts his help here reminds you of the anti-heroes, hero. If you like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, or Matt Dammon, this this film you will most certainly like. The characters played by Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta Jones in the last two episodes are not in this film, and to be honest, they needed to be. You see Pitt and Clooney talk about them both throughout the film, but their lack of being in this plot, I thought brought the film down. Overall its a great Summer 2007 "Popcorn" film that needs to been seen at least twice ,to see if you got it all. Grade. B+ Willie Banks: This town might have changed, but not me. I know people highly invested in my survival, and they are people who really know how to hurt in ways you can't even imagine. Danny Ocean: Well, I know all the guys that you'd hire to come after me, and they like me better than you.
