Movie Review: What Happens in Vegas...

Review:
Now I know that there have been some great romantic comedies made. I even have a few of them on Blu-Ray and DVD,What Happens in Vegas... will never be in my collection. I kept looking for something original in this film and sad to say there was nothing. I kept thinking, "OK, This was borrowed from here or lifted from this film." HUGE SPOILER ALERT............................................................... For those who do not know the plot it is very simple. 2 people go to Las Vegas for a vacation, they drink, get drunk and get married. They wake up the next day and realize that they are married and so realize that it was a mistake. They argue and he takes her quarter and puts it in a slot machine and he win 3 million US Dollars. She wants her half and they argue and apply for a divorce. The judge sentences them to live together for 6 months and the $ held in a trust. The only way that the arrangement can end is one person quits their claim to the $. So the film soon becomes who can out-gross the other one. ALERT OVER........................................................................ So if you have ever seen a romantic comedy before, you know how this film ends. What has really surprised me about the film is how well it has done at the US Box office. It has already made its production cost back for Fox and then some. Stay for the end of the credits for a little surprise at the end. If you like either of these stars then please seethe film.If you do not or hate seeing bad films, pass on this one at all cost. Movie Review: 88 Minutes

Review:
Well I really hate a murder mystery when, after 4 minutes, I went the killer is....... and I was correct and the film still has 84 minutes to go. Welcome to the film 88 Minutes When a movie has a scheduled release date of 2005 and the release date keeps getting pushed back many times, this should be a huge clue that you have a huge turkey on your hands. I know that Al Pacino is a great actor, but even he can't save this film. The story is that Al has 88 minutes to solve a murder. His own. Then the films takes off with some really bad fake acting and an inane plot that will have you bored and wondering why you wasted your $ on this film. After I guessed who the killer was, the clues trying to throw me off track were just pathetic and really hurt whatever attempt of a film the director had. I kept wondering, "Who wrote this and does he think that we are this stupid to miss the inane plot of this" Please do me a favor and pass on this film. Movie Review: We Own the Night

Review:
Have you ever thought that you were going to like a film, then the movie is over and you are left wondering, “What in the heck went wrong with this film?” “Why do I hate this film?” If you have ever felt like that, then welcome to We Own the Night The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall. Individuality they have done some great work in films, together they have created a mess that just does not work. The plot is simple, one son is a club owner and the other brother is a police officer and their father is the police chief. You see that they are a family but I never believed it. The wives and girlfriends were a huge joke and it just never really comes together. The film was a very early contender for 2008 Oscars but after the film was released, the talk of Oscar left and never returned. This film should have worked and, for some of the audience, they will love this film. Sad to say, I do not and believe that you should not waste your time on the joke of a movie. Review:
Well this is week 4 of the Summer 2008 Movie Season and coming out in week 4 is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Well the year is now 1957 and instead of fighting the Nazi's. Indy is fighting the evil Communist over a "Crystal Skull" To be honest I have never been a huge fan of this series, so I was not really looking forward to it. After seeing it, I know why I never liked this series. The plot and story are just insane and to include UFO's and aliens and the Soviets, it was just way too over the top. Every time I saw Cate Blanchett on the screen I kept thinking, Natasha from The Bullwinkle Show and I kept waiting for her to say, "Moose and Squirrel" I never believed her as a villain and the film never recovers from it. Now if you like over the top acting and some really incredible bad one-liners, then you will love this film. I kept waiting to see if this film could ever come together and sadly it was the ending that finally made this film come together. Lets just say that, its wide open for INDY 5. I never believed anything that this film had to offer. That is why, to me, I really did not hate the film but I never really liked the movie either. I did see the possibility of a great film in this movie. Sad to say, what was shown at the cinema sure in the heck was not it. Better luck next time.. Grade C- Opened in Korea. 22 May 2008 How I saw it. CGV Digital Opened in USA 23 May 2008. Mutt Williams: What's he gonna do now? Marion Ravenwood: I don't think he plans that far ahead. Indiana Jones: [pops out from the inside of the truck with a bazooka] I'd cover my ears if I were you!

Movie Review: Price Caspian

Review:
Well it is now week 3 in the summer 2008 lineup and we have another big-budget film debuting this week. The movies title is The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian To review so far. Week 1. Iron Man B+. It is a hit. Week 2. Speed Racer B. Huge miss, I do not know how much $ this film will lose. Now this film is part 2 of a planned 4 part stories based on the series of novels,The Chronicles of Narnia written by C.S. Lewis in the 1950s. The film deals with what happened to Narnia while the 4 kings were away. The Narnia series has always been hard for me to watch at the movies and even harder for me to review. The reason is that I haven't read any of the books in over 30 years. I have no idea if they are faithful to the source and what if any changes were made to the material. So I do this review without any knowledge of the book. "Prince Caspian" is a much slower pace than the last film and for some people this will be a huge turn-off. I found it to be as, one would watch pawns on a chess board, moving slowly but with a goal. It was slow but it has to be slow. What I liked about this slow pace was "Peter" He is the High-King but he is so unsure of himself. It was nice to see him grown into the leader that I thought that he could be. What was also nice is when Aslan does finally show up, its not over the top. It was like a child who believes in him would and that part of the film so worked for me. What I really liked was the mouse creature, Reepicheep (Voiced by Eddie Izzard). Looking at this fighter one is never sure what he actually is but it works. Please do not stay for the credits, there is no surprise at the end. The film works for me because I believe the story that I am seeing and you see the whole of the men, with their flaws and all. It came across as people trying to save the day but not really sure how. Please see it when you can. Grade B IMDB link Opened in Korea 15 May 2008 How I saw it. Digital CGV.
